Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office Update: Tom Holland Film Powers Past $700 Million in North America

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office: A $700 Million Milestone Arrives in Just 13 Days

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has turned its already exceptional North American run into an even bigger box-office story, crossing the $700 million mark in the United States and Canada after roughly two weeks in cinemas.

The milestone follows a $20 million estimated second Tuesday, which lifted the film’s domestic haul to about $691.03 million at the end of Day 12. The figure put the Sony-Marvel release within striking distance of the $700 million barrier, with the milestone expected to arrive on Day 13.

The achievement is significant because the film has reached the level at extraordinary speed. It is already above the lifetime domestic totals of Avengers: Infinity War, Titanic and Avatar: The Way of Water, based on the reported figures for those films.

From $655 million to the $700 million club

The latest surge follows an unusually strong second weekend.

Brand New Day earned approximately $144.5 million domestically in its second weekend, taking its North American total to $655.1 million after 10 days. According to AP, that was the fastest any film had reached the $655 million mark in the domestic market.

The film also crossed $1 billion internationally during its second weekend and reached approximately $1.67 billion worldwide after 10 days, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 at that point.

Its second-week performance has therefore done more than simply keep the film at No. 1. It has placed the latest Spider-Man adventure among the fastest-grossing movies in modern North American box-office history.

It has already passed several major blockbusters

The $691 million figure reported after Day 12 placed Brand New Day above several films that once occupied the upper reaches of the domestic box-office rankings.

Avatar: The Way of Water finished its North American run at roughly $688.5 million, while Avengers: Infinity War ended at about $678.8 million. Titanic is also listed at approximately $674.4 million in the figures accompanying the latest update.

That makes the pace of Brand New Day particularly striking. Those films needed substantially longer theatrical runs to accumulate their totals, whereas Holland’s Spider-Man has reached the same territory in less than two weeks.

The film’s rapid climb has also changed the conversation around where its final domestic total could land. Earlier forecasts were already pointing toward an enormous finish, but its second-week hold has strengthened the case for a prolonged run.

A $20 million Tuesday underlines the demand

The film’s estimated $20 million second Tuesday is another indication of its staying power. That represented a roughly 52% decline from its first Tuesday, but the absolute number remained unusually large for a film already in its second week.

The figure also placed Brand New Day ahead of the second-Tuesday performances reported for Avengers: Endgame and Deadpool & Wolverine in the source data.

That distinction matters because weekday grosses are often a useful indicator of how strongly a blockbuster is holding between weekends. A large second-week audience can help a film continue accumulating significant revenue even after its opening-weekend rush has faded.

The worldwide picture is equally strong

North America is only part of the story.

By its second weekend, Spider-Man: Brand New Day had already crossed $1 billion overseas, while the worldwide total stood at about $1.67 billion. AP reported that the film became the year’s highest-grossing movie after only seven days, overtaking Toy Story 5.

The performance has also contributed to a much stronger summer box-office environment in Hollywood. Barron’s reported that the film’s second weekend accounted for a substantial share of a $203 million domestic weekend, helping push the 2026 summer market toward the $4 billion mark.

That puts Brand New Day in a wider industry context. Its success is not simply another superhero-film record; it is one of the releases driving a broader recovery in theatrical attendance and revenue during the 2026 summer movie season.

Can Spider-Man challenge the biggest domestic records?

The next question is no longer whether Brand New Day can reach $700 million. That milestone is now effectively achieved.

The more interesting question is how high the film can climb.

The current all-time domestic leaders include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avatar, Top Gun: Maverick and Black Panther. No Way Home, also starring Holland, finished its original domestic run at more than $814 million.

With Brand New Day already approaching the $700 million threshold in its second week, the film has a realistic opportunity to challenge that previous Spider-Man benchmark.

However, final box-office totals cannot be established from early-week performance alone. The film will eventually face the normal pressures of a long theatrical run, including competition from new releases, declining weekday attendance and the loss of premium screens.

For now, though, the trajectory remains exceptional.

What comes next

The immediate target is the $800 million domestic mark. Reaching it would put Brand New Day firmly into the territory occupied by the biggest North American blockbusters of the past decade.

Whether it can eventually challenge the domestic records of No Way Home, Avengers: Endgame or The Force Awakens will depend on its weekend holds in the coming weeks.

What is already clear is that the latest Spider-Man film has moved far beyond a conventional superhero opening. In less than two weeks, it has become one of the fastest films ever to reach the upper levels of the North American box office—and its theatrical run is still in its early stages.
